Come explore the many wonders at Washington, D.C. Smithsonian Zoo. The Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute works to save species, better understand ecosystems and train future generations of conservationists. Founded in 1889, the Zoo is home to more than 2,100 animals, including some of the planet’s most critically endangered species, this represents almost 400 different species. Choose your favorite animal and learn more about it.

Itinerary:

7:15 a.m. – Depart Carlisle Barracks rest stop en route.

10:30 a.m. – Arrive Washington, D.C. Smithsonian Zoo (Drop off location to be determined)

10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.- On your own

4:00 p.m. – Return to drop off location

4:15 p.m. - Depart for home. Stop en route home for rest stop/fast food meal (on your own.)

8:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. – Return home to Carlisle Baracks 

Cost

$48/person

All ages 2 and under free, must be on your lap. If a seat is required, a ticket must be purchased. 

Includes roundtrip transportation

Driver tip is not included.
